Why 5522?

It seems an unusual name for a model railway business.  The reason behind it is both simple and obscure.

Alistair Wright has had a lifelong interest in the LMS railway.  Whilst living in Prestatyn in Wales, Alistair intended to set up  a finescale modelling group in the area.  Alistair had previously been a member of the ‘5516’ early P4 group together with well-known names such as Brian Rogers and Danny Pinnock when he lived in Hertfordshire.

‘5516’ was the number of the ‘Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment’ Patriot class locomotive.  The LMS also had a Patriot class locomotive that was named “Prestatyn”.

Its number? 5522 of course…
